I wish I found this website before i paid full for my accomodation. It seems all dive ops are very far from Denarau.
Me and my husband going for our anniversary trip - Fiji, we are staying in Westin Denarau.

Both of us are quite new for diving, I only dive 12 dives in total.
I am thinking to do one shark dive and one coral dive. I can't find any dive ops this near Denarau.

Any suggestion?

Thank you.
Christy

Hi
not sure you will get to dive these options from Denarau, this area is more tourist orientated than dive .
however I'm sure there are dive operators in Nadi that can get you out for a days diving, check with your hotel before leaving home on dive options they will be able to give you a better idea of what they can offer you.
shark diving is on the other side of the island at pacific harbour approx 3 hours away.
have a good holiday.

edit
found this in a recent thread.

Diving out of Nadi is not the best diving in Fiji, but can still be a lot of fun, just don't expect those world class reefs like we see in the Bligh Water or off Taveuni etc. Viti Watersports is one of the operations straight out of Nadi area who does diving and the owner Mike is a very upstanding Scotsman.

Stransky is right. You have to do a bit more of traveling from Nadi to get to the best Fiji has to offer. Maybe raki raki or pacific harbor but frankly a trip to outer islands like Kandavu or Taveuni (short shuttle flight fr Nadi) would be truly amazing. Much more of an unspoiled but rustic experience though - Fijian people are wonderful there too. BTW my wife and I ran into Mike of Viti Watersports on Kandavu - he is a cool and very knowledgeable guy. You might e-mail Viti watersports for some suggestions. Denaru is developed for tourism but water is a bit murky and reefs nearby pretty mediocre as far as I could tell. Nice fancy hotels, restaurants and bars. I would add Namena to places to see in Fiji too. I thought that was pretty great diving along with Taveuni and Kadavu. People in these places mentioned bligh water as great diving too.

Denarau is not typical Fiji at all. You wont get a feel for he culture or a taste of what Fiji diving is really like at all.
Probably next time, we will choose island or pacific harbour to stay.
I only able stay for 4 night this time, so travel agent introduce denarau for us.

Thanks lamarpaulski. I have contact vitiwatersport, waiting their reply. As we only going to stay for few day in fiji, don't think it is worth if we spend too much time on transport. We will plan another Fiji diving trip next time. Thank you for your infomation, I will take it consider when I plant next Fiji trip.

Add Naigani Island Resort to the list of excellent choices. It sits at the head of the Bligh waters and offers fantastic diving at a good value. Pacific Harbour is a good place for jet skiing and other active onland endeavors but, other than the shark dive, the diving is on the low end of what Fiji offers. I wouldn't suggest that you spend more than a day or two there if it is a dive vacation. Stop in for a shark dive and then get over to the Natovi jetty and catch the boat out to Naigani.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Anyone know about Reef Safari shark dive? I can't find more information about this except their own website.
There are located in intercontinental Resort or Shangri-La Hotel. Anyone try this before?

The Mamanucca Islands just to the North of you has some decent dives. There is a particular shark dive they do at a site they call Supermarket. With the amount of experience you have, it will be a pretty good dive for you. It's not going to be Galapagos quality but you'll see some good stuff and some sharks. You might not be able to get there directly from your current location but it's an easy place to get to from Denaru. If you are going for an anniversary, it would be worth staying a day or two up in those islands at a place like Musket Cove or Mana Island. I believe there is a ferry to get over there but not certain. Search for those resorts and see what info there is.
