the mental stress of the patient would have been horrific. I did read somewhere he thought it was only half a day he was trapped under water.

I think if I were the rescue diver I would have accidentally killed Harrison when he grabbed me.... would have assumed aqua-zombie attack... I guess cooler heads prevailed.
Listening to the audio, I can sort of hear the surface support guy thinking that his boy must have been talking nonsense when one of them was saying there was anyone alive down there.
An amazing alignment of the stars that he A) survived the sinking B) didn't drown or suffocate in the dark or die from dehydration C) he didn't go batsh*t crazy and try to swim his way out of the wreck after listening to fish eating the bodies of his shipmates in utter darkness for THREE DAYS D)that anyone found him at all and E) they actually had the gear to recover him alive and decompress him.
This guy will never need to buy a lottery ticket- he already won.

This remarkable story was detailed yesterday in the leaked footage of the miraculous deep-sea rescue operation shot from the helmet cameras of a specialized diving team. The video took the internet and news outlets by storm, detailing the extraordinary survival story of Okene who was trapped at the bottom of the ocean in the belly of a shipwrecked vessel for nearly 60 hours.

Deep sea divers were sent down on a retrieval operation to recover the bodies of those who had perished in the shipwreck, only to find Okene alive deep within the ship, 120 feet below the ocean surface. The dramatic footage of the rescue was caught on tape from the diver's helmet camera, and a few minutes of that footage was leaked to web and news outlets yesterday.

I'm still amazed that he left the small head and swam to the larger air pocket - in pitch black darkness, maybe even without air overhead. I'm sure there is much more to the story than the news media got right.
