They transferred him into the sat divers bell. Something like 60 hours to the surface, then a few more chamber rides on the boat.

the mental stress of the patient would have been horrific. I did read somewhere he thought it was only half a day he was trapped under water.

will watch all the videos tonight, thanks for the links all.

Sadly, the video is currently offline. Probably because ownership is now disputed in light of the large media attention (and $$$ it could make).

The link in post #1 still works for me. It's all over the news here. If I gave you a link, it might not work there, but google the subject and see.

I think if I were the rescue diver I would have accidentally killed Harrison when he grabbed me.... would have assumed aqua-zombie attack... I guess cooler heads prevailed.

Listening to the audio, I can sort of hear the surface support guy thinking that his boy must have been talking nonsense when one of them was saying there was anyone alive down there.

An amazing alignment of the stars that he A) survived the sinking B) didn't drown or suffocate in the dark or die from dehydration C) he didn't go batsh*t crazy and try to swim his way out of the wreck after listening to fish eating the bodies of his shipmates in utter darkness for THREE DAYS D)that anyone found him at all and E) they actually had the gear to recover him alive and decompress him.

This guy will never need to buy a lottery ticket- he already won.

Great tip... yep, the 'live leak' video is still in place. I've updated my blog feature with that video embedded, rather than the youtube, which is offline now.

Ah, I see the youtube video has replicated itself through multiple download/re-posters... :D

[h=1]Castlight Pictures Secures Worldwide Rights To Shipwreck Survivor Harrison Okene's Harrowing Story[/h]PR Newswire
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 5, 2013

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Worldwide rights to the incredible story of shipwreck survivor Harrison Okene have been secured by Mark Edwin Robinson and Dave Robinson of Castlight Pictures. This remarkable story was detailed yesterday in the leaked footage of the miraculous deep-sea rescue operation shot from the helmet cameras of a specialized diving team. The video took the internet and news outlets by storm, detailing the extraordinary survival story of Okene who was trapped at the bottom of the ocean in the belly of a shipwrecked vessel for nearly 60 hours.
"We have been completely captivated by this story for months now while working with Harrison, the intricate details of how this played out are so much more complex and phenomenal than anything that's been reported thus far. The footage is just a glimpse of what happened, and we're preparing to take this out to studios and financiers to tell the whole story from the perspective of those who were directly involved," saidMark Edwin Robinson.
Deep sea divers were sent down on a retrieval operation to recover the bodies of those who had perished in the shipwreck, only to find Okene alive deep within the ship, 120 feet below the ocean surface. Okene had miraculously survived in a 4 foot air pocket for almost three days before the daring rescue took place. The dramatic footage of the rescue was caught on tape from the diver's helmet camera, and a few minutes of that footage was leaked to web and news outlets yesterday.
"I feel strongly that this is an important story to tell, and am happy to be working with Mark and David," said survivor Harrison Okene.
Mark Edwin Robinson is repped by Joe Riley of Velocity Entertainment Partners, and Shelley Surpin of Surpin-Mayersohn, LLP.

I'm still amazed that he left the small head and swam to the larger air pocket - in pitch black darkness, maybe even without air overhead. I'm sure there is much more to the story than the news media got right.
