Nomad Ring Bungies

I just put these on my sms100 and really like them. (sacrilege I know to mix brands - how are the going to know what kind of fanboy I am?)
I haven't seen a lot on here about them. A cave instructor at a shop I used to go to had them.

I'm not diving caves, just recreational but with steel tanks these are nice.

Well if you're going so am I!!! I have made a few sets with different combos of bungee lengths and diameters. Reason being different tanks so different tension needs. Also have a large selection of clips and links to move the tanks a little.I use mine on a UTD clone. Not the one with the manifold on the back,don't like that. Lamar makes some great info-videos!

Ring bungees are fine. I have several sets myself and use them from time to time, when I use bottles with standard rigging kits and I put on the DR chokers.

I have put these on my Prism 2. I'll be doing full CCR Trimix in a week, and with taking 4 stage bottles, I want the weight (CG) of those bottles down low. I am a sidemount diver also, but wanted this on my rebreather.

I Put the pieces together myself using all medium sized bolt snap, medium Quick Link, and 2 inch Stainless Steel ring. Medium is the size dive rite uses as I called them.

$6 per side, just about the cheapest thing on the re-breather now.

If you have a SMS the modifications available make the ring bungee's irreverent.
I did not like them and chose to instead opt for the modifications done by Cave Adventures.
I have used several other combinations before making the modifications.
I switched my Nomad to the old school kit bungee rig from Cave Adventures as well love them!

Strictly personal preference. I dive the SMS-100 with the standard bungees, my wife dives her SMS-100 with the ring bungees and chokered bolt snaps on her tanks. We have each dived both systems successfully, but I have a preference for the original method, and she likes the ring bungees better. I have also tried it with the old school bungees, and found that option least desirable, but have friends who rave about that option. We all love to sidemount, and we all love that individual adjustments and variations can make each rig just a little better for its owner.

I have a Nomad with the ring bungees and like them, easy to use with a wetsuit, but have found that in a drysuit the added bulk and loss of flexibility make clipping in the chokers at the neck a pain in the a@@e - I am currently playing around with different tensions to see what works best. - P
