I took this video of a Spotted Eagle Ray feeding at Paso del Cedral on 13 March 2014. It didn't seem to notice we were there. In 1080p at YouTube.

I'm blocked (at work) from your link, what's the description on the youtube title? I can look it up that way. Thanks!

While not as neat as that encounter, I heard from other divers that they descended near an eagle ray at Punta Sur Sur and it remained in almost the same spot for the several minutes that the divers observed it. That may have been on 23 March 2014 and I have not seen any photos or video.

These are why I am wondering if the friendly nurse shark(s) may not be an isolated event.

I am not a marine biologist so take my opinion with due skepticism.

Very cool! I didn't get that close.

Love Cedral, our very first drift dive and man was it RIPPING. Saw more life on that one dive that all of our 20 dives on Grand Turk a few months back. Never did get another ripping dive like that on our trip, we kept chasing that rush!!!

Great job, excellent video!

Nice video! Thanks for sharing.

Last year I laid beside one doing that munching for quite awhile. When we got back on the boat I asked hubby "Did you get a picture of that???" He said "yes". We get back to the room and he has a few great shots of the ray but none of me behind the ray. WTF?

Someone's definitely been feeding that one-----------then....:)
