Not sure why someone would want to dive solo on a trip/excursion. Personally I'm not wired that way.

I'm also not sure what value *any* of the solo courses have. It seems to me that if you need a course to learn how to dive solo that you probably aren't ready. Scuba courses teach skills, not experience. For solo diving, you mostly need experience.

I think it's just a money-grab.

R..
The value I got out of it was the little things, like gear configuration, the need for a spare mask etc. didn't teach me a thing about how to dive. Really felt it was worthwhile

***cough cough*** ...//...

OK, I'll play too. The Ocean (only one of 'em) IS the Ocean. $150 gets you two trips on a charter boat and about five trips on a private boat.

Enjoy Dutch, by my calculations, which include the occasional 50 yr storm, by 2017 it should have passed the 50% point in being pure piss.

Say what? 2 trips on a charter? Not in my neck of the woods. Dive OC MD or Hatteras and its $150/day two dives. Private boat - I don't have access to that, but there was boat thread "cost" not that long ago and with gas etal, I'd say $50/person was reasonable to the owner, or you don't get invited back. Eitherway, private boat is not fair in this argument cause you have to be connected.

As far as piss, not sure what you're getting at, but its the same ground water piss that comes out your tap....have a glass!

$150 US gets you about 1.5 trips in NW FL and over 3 trips with some left over in Halifax area, NS.

Ah hamstrung by my region. Imagine what it'll be like when travel is all down an electric wire instead of by physical matter....

Oh you got me - season openers NO FAIR!

.....yeah them's mostly outta my range depth wise when spearing with my smokin' hot red-head dive buddy..... :p

Am I coming diving with you?
