Heh wow - I popped back after just a few hours and there's cool answers all over the place here! Thanks for all the input, that Liquivision bungee looks like a first class idea, but it loses the 'failsafe' of 2 bungees no? (i.e. if that 1 bungee breaks the whole thing comes undone?).
Interesting too with the ball idea - once the sealant's dried and I get the glove rings on I'll see if just putting a longer bungee on would do it too, but at a glance it doesn't look like it (big ring vs. scrawny little arms y'see!).

I have my DSS bungee mounts set up with two pieces of bungee. On one end, I ran the bungee up one hole, and back down the adjacent, with the knot being on the 'bottom' of the mount. The other end is just run 'up' thru the hole in the mount and knotted on 'top'.

The loops are just generous enough (I got lucky actually) to make it over my SiTech rings. I think I usually put them on before donning the dry gloves, so just the suit ring and adaptor, not the Glove Lock outer rings.

For diving wet, I can pull the "knot only" end up, around the side of the instrument, and put it under the little loop formed in the end that goes Up-Down. The tension holds the knotted under under the loop nicely, and for me at least is the perfect amount of extra tension to make up the difference in position/diameter/arm-meat/etc.

If you make two knots, one on either side of the finger in the picture, you'll effectively have two separate bungies that happen to be connected.

I'm going to go home and try this on my Petrel tonight. My plan is to run two pieces of smaller bungee in parallel so that failure of one results in the other still being there.

Yeah that's true (can't believe I didn't see that!). I'll give that a try too for sure! :cool2:

I make loops with slip knot that allow me to adjust tension depending on suit I'm wearing. Not sure if this would work with LV but certainly works with DSS mounts. I did the same for compass.
