SOS Mode

Just got a pair of new Sola 1200's and reading through the owner's manual I come across item #4 on the operation page. The item says how to get into and out of SOS mode but I don't see any reference in the manual as to what exactly SOS mode is. Some of us old guys need a little more information than that.

How to get to/from SOS mode? The manual which I have doesn't tell 1 word about the mode (by the way the same applicable to lock/unlock function )
