When I was around 10-12 years old, I found a $50 bill while snorkeling in Lake Michigan. Nothing to sneeze at in the mid-80s, especially for a kid.

My dad told me to stop broadcasting the fact, lest somebody come over and claim it for themselves.

Underwater camera complete with over 1,000 photos with a charged battery. I send it to photograph fish for the rest of my dive.

This week I found $1 and a dive knife...at this rate, I figure I'll be able to pay for my diving in about 1,000 years.

We've also found:
Mask
Swim Goggles
40 year old bear can
dive flag
mesh gear bag

And my favorite
A slate that said...East? Which way is east???

Lookie what I found today.:D

I found a NOAA weather balloon wedged in a rock in about 25 fsw. I through away the balloon and rigging (it was going to smell). but I did hold onto the telemetry pack. I had my daughter check to see if we should send it back to the gov't (not after being immersed in sea water). I love the writing on the back and side announcing "harmless weather device". I would love to see one labelled "deadly nerve agent"

My husband, after exactly 3 weeks of marriage, lost his wedding ring in a lake. We memorised the place. It is about 7 meters deep, visibility is about 2 meters, there is a lot of sediment in the bottom.
We have a technical diver with metal detector to help us in couple of days.
Do you think it is possible for him to find the ring?
I am so anxious... it is so precious to us (mostly emotionally, but also it was a costly, custom made ring).
What do you think is a chance in those conditions for a diver to find a ring? How sensitive are metal detectors?

Edit. When talking about finds, I found 2 x 2 kg diving weights and about 30 meter of thick fishing line attached to them in a reef near Hurghada.

Man, I hope you find your ring mate, the metal detector should be able to find a ring at 6-10 inchs depending on the type and quality of the MDer. hopefully the silt isn't too deep, also recovering a target can be challenging in silty conditions. The biggest thing that will help him locate it is if you know exactly where you lost it.
Good luck Arwen, if I were closer I would help look for it as well.

This weekend, diving in Lake Pleasant (AZ), we found a spatula and a bottle of tabasco sauce in about 25-30 feet of water. My best guess is that someone was rooting around in a cooler and knocked them overboard from a houseboat.
