Computer and reg's go with me on carry-on, all other items go as checked. Not worried about pressure, more concerned about damage during flight, thus i keep those items on me with carry-on.
How do you pack your gear for travel?

Although the notion that there are "pressure issues" is ludicrous (as I posted earlier), we do put gear that cannot be easily replaced (like my Rx mask) in carry on.
I do reg, mask, computer, lights in a reg bag in my carry on, and then I put my wing and wetsuit in the carry on too. I figure if they somehow damage my SS back plate in the checked luggage, diving will be the least of my worries. If they lose/take it hopefully I can rent a BC during the trip.

Yup. Prescription masks and regulator rigs (with dive computers) go in our carry-on backpacks -- so we have them in case baggage gets delayed. I also carry my rather heavy laptop in my backpack, which makes for a rather heavy backpack -- but manageable.
With the regs and masks (heavy lenses) taken care of, each person's gear and clothing for a tropical trip comes out to less than the 50-lb allowance.

My wife and I share a rolling duffel for 2 suits, 2 BCDs, 2 fin sets, 2 booties and a few misc. things. Clothing goes in a second shared duffel. Regs, computers, camera, small lights go in a carry-on because it is more painful to arrive without them than the other items.

I have been on over 20 overseas dive trips and have always packed my regulator in the checked bag with rest of the kit. I use the BCD and wetsuit to protect the reg and pack rest of the stuff around to get maximum cushioning. Never had a problem. I even put my large strobe heads in the checked luggage with their heads wrapped in protective photo-wraps and stuffed between clothes. With rest of my camera kit going into the hand luggage, there is no room in the bag anyway.

Gaaahhhh! I can't make up my mind on this! I was looking at the DiveCaddy and multiple people have said how wonderful it is on here but then there is always one or two negative Nancies that come in and gloom all over the place about how it will get checked anyway and it's a waste.
Have you ever had issues with it?
Can you name one single thing that doesn't have a few negative reviews? Have the people providing these negative opinions ever actually used the product in question?
We have a pair of the Gen IIs. We don't always use them, but when we have, there have been no issues with the airlines.

Not so much negative reviews as people saying I'd have to check it, at which point its useless.
