Which is the best GoPro Camera to get for Scuba Diving?

Have any of you pulled still frames from the hero 3 black 4k yet? I was thinking of getting one to play with but I hear they might come out with the 4 for Christmas.

I'm also looking for a basic video camera. I can't find bad review for the Intova Sport HD II which is only $150. But I also can't find a lot of reviews period.

I bought the Intova Sport HD II this spring and dove with it for a week in Cozumel. I also purchased the Intova red filter, which is a wet mount filter. I was extremely happy with the color and picture quality, as well as the ease of use and battery life. If you are using it below 15 to 20 feet, I definitely recommend the physical red filter versus the inboard electronic filter - color is incredible with the filter. Just make sure to pull it off if you are using your flashlight while you are taping, or the subject will be pink.

I don't have a GoPro for direct comparison, but I had seen a few videos from both and talked to people that owned them before I decided. The only difference that I have seen is that the microphone seems to be a little better on the GoPro. I was only looking for something to dive with, so sound wasn't the highest priority (reg and bubbles still sound fine).

The Intova had everything I needed - 1080p, 60fps @ 720p, digital red filter (for shallow dives), integrated LCD, dive ready, great picture quality and half the price of the GoPro kitted up with similar features. Just like on the GoPro, the LCD is small, but I did find it useful yo have for framing he video (ANC it comes standard!)

The battery on the Intova is integrated, so you can't have a spare on standby. I didn't record continuously, but easily had enough battery life for 3 dives. I charged it each night and was ready to go with no dead battery issues.

No regrets with the Sport HD II and I would definitely recommend it.

I put my vote with the Gopro 3 Black.

Stunning image clarity, well worth the extra $$$. As mentioned by others, the casing is very sturdy, no risk of opening by mistake (you'll struggle the first time you try to open the ^%$# thing!), buy two extra batteries and a decent red filter. Most importantly, get really close to your subjects and you will not regret it (if you want get really, really close, get a macro attachment). Finally, be ready for lots of hours in the digital "editing room",but you'll be proud of the results.
