I missed the last line about this being at Beaver lake when I read this before. You are NOT ALONE! I think I know which shop you are referring to (up on the hill??) There have been so many bad air reports that my LDS forbids anyone renting his tanks to have them filled at that shop.

I wish we had heard that prior to getting fills there. Yes it sits on a hill and is close to the dam, if that shop has a reputation for bad fills they are just plain negligent.

I'm sure by now, the owner of this shop has read this thread, read my snail mail, had a conversation with PADI (since he is a 5 star PADI dive shop, and I complained to them, like they care) and in general does no give a rats Ass about his customers has decided that some guy that got bad air from him will just go away. He's partially right, I'll never darken the door of his shop again nor will any other divers from my area.

I still ill have to ask why? Several people have PM'd me, and all knew exactly the shop I was talking about, why is this guy still in business?

I'm curious, have you called the shop?

While I agree it warrants a response, a lot of businesses these days don't deal in paper. Mail gets parsed quickly - bills and payments are the priority and get identified and put in the inbox. Everything else may get tossed in the round file. Snail Mail may be handled by a number of individuals before it gets lost.

Emails, too, can go ignored. But if you have the individual on the phone, they at least have to hear you out and can then decide to respond or hangup.

Not defending the shop, as I don't know anything about them.

Well, it is the only dive shop within 45 minutes of the dam. Pretty easy to figure out which one it is.

I'm really surprised by this. I've be dealing with that shop for years and never had a problem with air fills. I was there that day as well and remember having to wait longer than normal for a fill because the cascades were emptied. My air was fine. I should also add that I do dive nitrox and never have had an issue before. Makes me want to go out and get a CO tester.

Have you gotten a response since you made this post?
