Will be in Tahiti and surrounding area in 1 month and looking for best dive spots. Anyone want to share experiences there? I've dived a lot and lived in Micronesia. What can close to matching Palau, Guam, CNMI and Truk?
Ol' doc diver

Rangiroa and Fakarava are where its at. The Tahiti express when its flowing isnt a bad drift dive but the Tuomoto Archipeligo will blow your mind if you like big stuff in big volumes.

+1 with Wingy. Tikehau, rangiroa and fakarava north and south..

We dove Papeete, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Rarotonga, and Rangiroa. Of them all, the only one I thought was really great diving was Rangiroa. On the others, there are a lot of shark feeding dives, and there is a lot of dead coral. We didn't see large numbers of reef fish anywhere but Rangiroa.

Definitely Rangiroa and Fakarava. I have heard only complaints regarding Moorea and Bora Bora, specifically regarding coral bleaching and Crown of Thorns infestation. I have not personally seen this but take it from a good source. I have been to both Fakarava and Rangiroa a couple of times and was very happy with the diving there and look forward to returning.

We dove Bora Bora; albeit it was 1997: The diving was good, and coral healthy.

Would love to return as I enjoyed my diving there nearly 15 years ago even though I only dove Moorea. Next trip I'll have to explore some of the better islands and this time I'll have my camera with me.

Just came back. The sharks are so abundant, especially in Fakarava (south) that it is about the only fish they do not point at. By de dozens if not hundreds :)

Amazing video!
I will be in Fakarava and Rangi next January. What camera did you use? I am just planning to change my camera before this trip. And I would like to have also 4K.
