How do I get files to Dropbox or my NAS using an iPad?
When on a dive trip, I usually only bring my iPad. Would like to be able to transfer files off the camera and upload to Dropbox or to my NAS each night.

I was playing around with the Action Cam HD app and it seems like it needs some work. The files don't seem to save in the "Photos" section on the iPad.

I always bring both, an iPad and computer for just that reason. I know they made a SD card adapter that plugs into the port at the bottom but I think all it does is dump everything to the iPad. My iPad never had enough memory to do that. From the computer, dropbox, Google Drive or even airdrop from a Macbook is the way to go.... This is where the Apple products fall short. Nothing is easy if you're doing something that's not apple approved (and I'm an Apple user). There may be another way, but I'm not sure what it might be.

I got a Windows tablet for my wife, and you just plug the microSD card in and away you go.

Problem is this camera has an internal memory and not an SD card, so it can only be connect via cable or wireless to iPad. The app it uses falls short, so I will consider bringing the laptop or using the Apple USB to Lightning adapter.

I found it wasn't worth the hassle to try to connect it via a cable with it's limitations. Sometimes you can access the internal memory by hooking it up to a computer and just copying files up and down, but that's not what you're trying to do. I wish I had a better solution. If you figure something out, let me know since I've been trying to figure out a good way to do it for a long time.

At our Micro HD Tips and Technical Updates page:
There is an update for the Action Cam HD app available for iOS that will now store files to the ‘camera roll’ section.
Also information for direct USB connection for smart phones and tablets.

I have the latest version of the app installed (version 1.21.08000) and it doesn't save to the camera roll.
