So sorry Tammy, especially about the diabetes. I've bent my girls a number of times. Haven't had a chamber treatment yet though perhaps should have done. there's an old thread or two in Women's Perspectives about bent "girls", if you're interested in doing the search. (Perhaps our expert searcher drrich will dig it up for you)

I will see if I can get Richard to do that for me, he is a former student of mine.

Glad to here you're recovering.... But I'm a little curious, why/how do just the boobs take a hit? Are they more prone to this? Setting the diabetes aside, when women take a hit is that usually the first sign of DCS for them.

As a man it may seem silly asking, but I have female dive buddies and maybe this issue could come up in the future on my boat and I would like to be able to identify a situation/symptom that may need immediate attention.

Until the authorities jump in here are a few useful links including a thread on this by DocVikingo...

Because it's unusual. A DCI inquiry I received last week.+

Like chillyinCanada I have had some issues as well but no chamber visits. The "unique" composition of the female breast seem to make us particularly susceptable. It seems that skin bends are also more common in females with our higher fat content... in certain areas.

I am no professional for sure, But I agree, especially about the fat. It is well known that fat absorbs nitrogen quickly & releases it slowly.. Plus we females tend to have a more developed lymph system in & around the breasts/ arm pits, which the hyperbaric Dr. seemed to think was the manifestation I had, as the soreness & swelling went from under my left arm around the chest into the breasts into the right arm pit.

If anyone knows how to get my profile from my Shearwater to this board, I would be glad to show my dive profile.

Very glad you are ok Tammy!

Just need a computer that has Bluetooth. Download the Shearwater Desktop app for either Mac or PC. You should be able to see the complete dive log as well as dive profile.

LOL... Thanks! I can do that part. The part I am confused about is getting the profile from the Shearwater desktop, to a file that can be used by Scubaboard & saved to my desktop to download to Scubaboard. I guess I should have been a little more specific. Sorry about that.

Maybe do a screen capture and save the file as a jpg?

OK, here goes a try on the profile,... I was diving a 24/20 mix. The short surface intervals was from a false start. A team member had equipment issues. We only went to about 40 ft for about 10 min with a slow ascent.: Hope that helps

Did a little searching for old threads that might discuss breast DCI hits (ignoring breast feeding, breast implants & after breast surgery). Found old stuff; in case it's of interest:

1.)Breast pain from DCS? ('Ask Dr. Decompression, 12-8-08).

2.)Breast Pain and Diving (Women's Perspectives, 4-8-06).

You may find more, but that's what I turned up fast.

Richard.
