I one time saw an object falling from the surface when I picked it up it was a purse falling from the paddle boat/fish watching dock. I surfaced right in front of a very distraught young lady with her I assume young kid looking into the water off the dock. She of course screamed as the lake monster was appearing in front of her. Lucky for her her purse was almost watertight and even her slightly damp cell phone survived the quick dip. She gave me enough beer money to pay for air for the whole weekend for saving her phone/carkeys.

That jet fuel tank is pretty awesome! was it full of water or fuel?

It was full of water. After contacting our local airport, they sent a representative out to confirm what it was, then our local news station did a piece on it. They dated it back to being in service during the Korean War. He also confirmed that they were drop tanks for when the plane ran out of fuel. Now with that being said, those jets were decommissioned from service in the early 60's, and a lot of parts were sold as surplus (so we have been told). People would buy them and use them as lift ballast to get their vessels out of the water in the winter time. We took that into consideration that some one possibly bought it as surplus and decided it wasn't going to work for them and sunk it. However, the representative from the airport stated the tank would have been stripped of all hardware if that was the case. The gas lines were still attached to this one. Furthermore the location we found it was underneath a bridge that was built in 1968, well past the time of them being decommissioned. And lastly, the US Navy numbers that were on it, stated that it came from Hawaii, kind of a long distance to buy and have shipped all the way across America. Not saying someone couldn't have towed it there and sunk it, but evidence is leaning more towards it actually being dropped from the sky. Either way, it is pretty neat to have a piece of history sitting on my property.

If fuel, it should float.
