I have a tiny leak in my drysuit zip seal - where the seal attaches to the fabric of the suit (not the removable part).

The suit is almost brand new, and this appears to be a manufacturing defect.

The inside of this spot looks to be a little rough.

Can I fix this by painting it with Aquaseal? I desperately need a functional suit this weekend and don't have time to take it in. Help?

Thank you!

i would spread some aqua seal over the inside and it should be just fine it may however void a warranty. You may want to call DUI and ask first

I managed to get out to the shop and have them take a look at it. They fixed it same day (with DUI's approval on warranty status). Hopefully that means no leaky gloves this weekend, hooray!

Hope your problem is solved and you have safe, dry diving this weekend. For future reference, a friend of mine told me aqua seal will only act as a short term solution if it works at all, apparently it doesn't adhere well to the gloves. He suggested I use a 50-50 mix of aqua seal and MEK, shake well and coat the problem area. I have a pinhole in each of my gloves, so am going to try this when I get a chance, though I haven't tried it yet.

Diving warm and wet this week, so I'll deal with it when I return to cold, dark and scary....my favorite place to play on the home court

Hi. This is Kathy with DUI. We have a small repair booklet online and available as a free download at http://www.dui-online.com/pdf/drysuit_repair_outline.pdf

You could also add Cotol-240® to the Aquaseal. This will help it to dry fast.

SEALANT PATCH
1. Locate and mark where the leak is. Lay the suit inside out and on a flat
surface.
2. Seal by mixing 1
/2 ounce of Aquaseal® and 1
/2 ounce of Cotol-240® and
apply two coats of the mixture approximately one inch around the
marked area. Allow to dry for approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
