... but that could also be part of the problem you are experiencing.

I assume you were talking to guruboy there. I'm using the stock o-ring that came on the reg.

The din o-ring groove is not within tolerances on at least some of the deep 6 regulators.

That's unfortunate news. I'll give the guys a call and see what they say. Thanks

I am sure bubble gum would work, but there is a reason the higher durometer o-rings are used for a high pressure connection. So sure you can McGuyver it and use an o-ring that is inferior to the one that actually goes there, but that could also be part of the problem you are experiencing.

Bubble gum would definitely not work.

I also did not advocate the use of any random o-ring. Using a 70D oring instead of 90D increases the risk of extrusion, but extrusion is not the issue here (o-ring falling out of the din groove).

Are you sure you know how orings work?

Don't forget there is an extra oring on the din cap.

Can you be more specific about th din oring groove tolerances and what the measurement should be?

I don't know what the measurements should be. I am just going by what I was told by deep 6. I had the same issue as the OP with the o-ring falling out / not sealing properly.

Hey all,

So..regarding the ability of our DIN regs to want to have the DIN face O'ring fall out when you take the reg out of the tank valve...

It's not a durometer (hardness) of the O'ring issue. It's an issue with the the specs on the piece that holds the O'ring.

We had been working with the factory on why it was happening and at DEMA they let us know that somehow the CNC shop that makes the part for them had been using a old program file from a few years ago that was wrong by mistake when they programmed the CNC machine to cut the part.

That part is actually almost universal for virtually all the DIN regs they make including other brands and some other brands also reported the issue.

The issue is annoying as the O'ring pops out far too often when taking the reg off the tank valve. It's not a issue in use.

I ordered replacement parts at DEMA when I was told and they just were shipped yesterday from the factory in Taiwan to us. I should have them here Thursday or Friday.

Starting Monday I will be sending the part to everybody that has bought a DIN first stage from us so they can change out the part. It take a 6mm hex wrench and about a minute to do and is really easy. I will be sending instructions, and post a quick video showing how.

Best,

Chris

@cerich , thanks for the reply and the soon to be shipped fix. It wasn't ever a huge issue, only a slight pain in the rear, I just had to be a little more cautious as I took the reg off to catch the o-ring. I only asked about it here because with my other din reg it never really happened and I wanted to be sure it wasn't something I was doing to cause it. I appreciate the fast response and quick fix. Also, loved the fins when I was finally able to get them into the water for a short time. Looking forward to the computer as well, I had hoped to get the kiddo one for Christmas but we'll wait patiently.
