Hey all,
So..regarding the tendency for our DIN regs to have the DIN face o-ring fall out when the first stage is removed from the tank valve...

It's not a durometer (hardness) of the O-ring issue. It's an issue with the the specs on the piece that holds the O-ring.

We had been working with the factory on why it was happening and at DEMA they let us know that somehow the CNC shop that makes the part for them had been using a old program file from a few years ago that was wrong by mistake when they programmed the CNC machine to cut the part.

That part is actually almost universal for virtually all the DIN regs they make including other brands and some other brands also reported the issue.

The issue is annoying as the O-ring pops out far too often when taking the reg off the tank valve. It's not a issue in use.

I ordered replacement parts at DEMA when I was told and they just were air shipped yesterday from the factory in Taiwan to us. I should have them here Thursday or Friday. (15-16 Dec)

Starting Monday (provided they get here this week) I will be sending the part to everybody that has bought a DIN first stage from us so they can change out the part. It takes a 6mm hex wrench and about a minute to do and is really easy. I will be sending instructions, and post a quick video showing how.

Best,

Chris

Well, call me impatient if you want but just ordered another set for the girlfriend!

Next dive trip is in february, the wait will be long!

A manufacturer being proactive and sending replacement parts directly to customers?
Without the customer having to jump through hoops to send it in for service, or to be notified at all that there is an issue?

Ok, when is Ashton going to jump out?

But seriously, good job there.

I've had this same issue with my HOG D2s a couple of times, almost lost an o-ring on a liveabord! So yeah, not just your new regs :)
