You will do that instead of spending $15 or less on the proper webbing?? And I think the urethane epoxy will cost more than that.

Sometimes you need to make something that you can't buy... Cost is not a problem if you need to make something work.. I like soft webbing and changed a part of the webbing on my and wife's BC's to be more comfortable... Stiff were needed and soft a flexible on my body... And added crotch straps...

I'm using a steel BP and SOLO harness on my single tank right. I'm building out a new right to use for doubles. I was thinking about using an aluminum BP. I have a Halcyon Evolve 40lb wing. I'm still deciding on what BP to use. Was thinking about Halcyon everything but wanted to get a second opinion/advice before I go on a shopping spree online.

Tec pass means drysuit and doubles. Diving dry here in SoCal, a steel BP is perfect with steel doubles. I regularly dive double HP100's with a steel BP, and I still add a 9 pound V weight. With AL you'll just have to even more weight. I have a brand new AL BP that has never seen water, lol.

With 80's I add 4 pounds. With 130's I don't use the V weight, just the steel BP.

I also like the H webbing the best.

Add a canister light as well. For GUE training, you really save money by purchasing the right items at the get-go instead of buying the inappropriate items and replace them during the class. To do that, I would highly suggest you consult a local GUE instructor on things to buy. He/she can at least point your at the right direction.

And in the grand scheme, don't worry about the webbing. Just buy the H webbing. It is not expansive at all, and it is pretty good. Also, don't trim too much off. Chances are the instructor will make some adjustment for you in the class.

I've used webbing from just about everywhere over the last 20 years.........so far the Halcyon webbing is my favorite. Not too stiff, not too soft......

Thanks a lot for the information, Craig. I'm still figuring out what kind of doubles setup I will be running. Saw a used set of HP100s I might pick up. I know that Martin uses HP120s. I was interested in AL80s but I heard those don't trim out very well and most people don't use them. I'll probably go with a steel BP as you mentioned. See you on Sunday at Steve's workshop?
