I am speaking at a GUE event. Do I need to get rid of the shoulder buckle on my tanks?

Paint a blue H on the buckle, you'll be fine.

I was thinking more along the lines of a couple of stiff rums before I open my mouth.

Well, when you have two flask holders with flasks mounted to your rigg to help you facilitate that plan, the buckle/s sure won't be noticed by anyone. It's probably OK if the flasks sport a dive flag - wait, no, you might not be at a tourist resort, for this crowd it might be better to sport appropriate markings. Like:
STOO - 50% C2H5OH - MOD 24"
Why 24?
Inches, not feet.
Because if you are much deeper than that under many tables you will hit the ground hard...

A tarp indeed.

I'm assuming you are just kidding with your questions but just in case not...

One of the best presentations I have ever been to was at a GUE conference, with two GUE instructors (one each on the RB80 and the GUE JJ), BEcky K discussing the Meg, and Rick Stanton discussing his homebuilt unit. Obviously neither of the the last two speakers had GUE-ifed their rigs. For anyone who knows Rick, the thought of him even thinking about doing so is very funny!

I'm sure the organizer (I'm assuming CB?) thought you had something of interest for the community regardless of your background - but the best way to know to know for sure is to ask her :)

Obviously you have some work to do on deception; the H's need to be engraved on buckles, painted blue on strapping <g>.

Paint a blue H on the buckle, you'll be fine.

I think I have a "H" keyring floating (figuratively, that is) around somewhere. You can borrow¹ it if you feel that you might need it.

¹ For a modest² fee to cover S&H, of course.

² I'd guess somewhere around 50 US should cover most of the costs...

hell just go in all dacor gear ............and REAL rockets and last but not least AN ORIGINAL healthways horse collar ....and say its gue/dir /utd because all your dive team buddies dive that configuration .....(ps I still have all that )
