The Dive Theory course apparently goes beyond the theory that we got in the OW course. It's a completely on-line course and is open to anyone (10 years or older). It is typically taken by those who are going to become Divemasters or Instructors. However, is also billed by PADI as a course for those who want to learn more about diving. By completing the course, Divemaster candidates can receive credit for half of the Divemaster Final Exam (according to the PADI web site).
It is decent online course. It covers Physics, Physiology, Equipment, The Recreational Dive Planner, Diving Environment and Dive Skills. I also like the PADI Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving manual also. Dive Theory is like an online version of the Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving manual with test questions. If a PADI Divemaster candidate has taken the course online in the last year, they do not have to take the Dive Theory exam.
