@ReefHound .... we took the bus from terminal 3 this past June. It took us to both terminal 1 and 2. If I remember correctly on 2 this stop was on left of terminal 2 with no stand but just some people lined up and a person wearing ado jacket. We are going again in December and flying southwest too should find out by then.

My van guy is good and pretty cheap:

Hey! He is quick to respond, esp on whatsapp. a day is usually of notice, same day with enough notice he has done for me. The new thing with him is make the deal in pesos. I used to pay 45-55 dollars. Started pesos and he takes 750 give or take. He used to make me negotiate, but now I say 750 and he usually takes it. Pesos is the key!

He will be waiting just outside the doors for you, probably with a sign. He knows me now, so as soon as I exit, I hear him calling me. Nice guy. Stopping for a six pack makes the drive nicer and you can carry it on the ferry. Be sure to tip the driver!

Be sure to tell him Jefe sent you~

I am certainly not opposed to saving money when and where I can, but I have to say that a Cozumel vacation is a big investment for me no matter how I slice it, so some savings here and there doesn't necessarily move the Big Picture Needle. For example, on my last trip there I spent about $300 more on plane fare plus an extra hotel night's room rate to get myself and my wife there a day before the rest of the Thundering Herd so that we could have a date night on the island before the rest of our group got there. It was totally worth it!

The inbound bus stops and drops at terminal 1 then 2 then 3. Then picks up at 3, then 1 and finally 2 then departs for Playa. The published arrival time for the airport is for terminal 1 and departure is for terminal 2.

We flew into CZM with Delta from Richmond, Va. earlier this month. I had been watching fares for some time and was thrilled to get tickets for about the same price we paid last year. Then Delta charged us for bags (which use to be free) charged us to select our seats. In the past we've upgraded to priority plus so we would be sure to get overhead space. We pack most of our gear into carry on bags.

In years past if you upgraded, it was round trip. This year, same cost but only one way. I am so tired of being nickel and dimed. Our very reasonable fare cost us more than $300 extra. I'm expecting them to begin charging for bathroom privileges.

Do not give them ideas! Marketing tried charging for sodas a few years back to see if the passengers would stand for it:rant:

We've never taken that route. Always 3-2-1 outbound. You may have seen 3-1-2, but that would mean backtracking back to 2, which would be a peculiar route, and I think perhaps a one-time anomaly.

Just returned from my first drag. One thing I don't remember reading anywhere is where to enter the Ultramar boat. We dropped our bags at the back of the boat and crossed the ramp there to board. Big mistake as they had both doors to the interior locked and we had to sit outside in the heat. Not sure if they always have them locked, but next time I'll walk back to the ramp at mid ship and board there.

We returned on Mexico Waterjets since they were slightly cheaper. Price wars are stIll very active. I like them much better if nothing else for the fact that they gave us a bag tag for each piece of luggage and were able to actually match up the tags upon arrival. It was nice and organized. Ultramar gave 1 tag for 4 pieces of luggage and when we reached Cozumel people were all over the place trying to claim luggage with no tags, the 2 of us included.

Lessons learned on any ferry...get a claim ticket for each piece of luggage.

For some reason, they won't give luggage tags if it contains diving stuff. I've had the same experience with all three ferries.
