I need to fix a broken canister light cable. Any suggestion how to isolate and waterproof the connection?
I plan to put some aquaseal on interal wires and use waterproof heat shrink tubing over external shell.

Thank you,
Vitaly

Use what they call adhesive lined heat shrink. When it is heated the inner goo melts and oozes out each end. Then wrap it with self vulcanizing tape

Is it self vulcanizing and self fusion tape are the same?

There is a thick layer of glue inside the battery block and the head. Too much work to clean it.

Details will depend on what you mean by "broken". In general, basically what DennisS said. I don't use self vulcanizing tape though. Instead 2-3 layers of the waterproof heat shrink (different diameter). If you go the cheap route, regular heat shrink with silicon added will do as well. If you want to add further abrasion resistance, wrap it with wire protecting mesh. Don't go overboard since the fixed cable needs to have some flexibility.

Urathane?

Thanks everybody for suggestions. Adhesive lined heat shrink worked fine for the weekend but I definitely need to replace the whole cable as a long term fix. Any recommendations where to buy the cable?

Bobby at Light Monkey has always been very helpful.
