We've put together a series of Demo Day Events around the Southeast US for a laid back and casual gathering of all levels of divers interested in trying out and learning about tech dive gear. With several companies at each event there will be something for everybody from fins to rebreathers! The first event is at Ginnie Springs in North Florida on February 3rd. Check out the website for more information

Count me there! For those who are wondering if Tech is right for you, this is the perfect place to come and figure that out. Great manufacturers, awesome instructors, a chance to meet some dive buddies and beautiful 72-degree water while the rest of the country deals with far colder waters.

1) I appreciate your correct sizing on the dive flag 5 units wide X 4 units high X a one unit stripe

Very few in the current diving community realize that the dimensions of the dive flag was agreed on by the small diving community in 1958.

2) re your Demo Day
In the genesis of diving LA County UW Instructors Association (UIA) also had a Demo Day.

I recall when in 1963 (55 years ago!) the Late Bill Barada, (LA county UW Instructor ) demonstrated the Calypso UW camera -- All including me jumped into the water with it and was surprised and had universal disbelief that it was water proof ! But it was ! A few months later I had one in my hands

A few years later Bill Walters (LA county UW Instructor ) demonstrated the BIU "At Pac."..What a departure from the norm of the era -- we were accustomed to front inflation PFU.-- but little did I and others realized that it would soon became the standard of the industry and I would own a number of them

3) I commend you on your efforts and sincerely hope your Demo d=Day is well attended and the first of many to follow on a yearly basis

Thanks Sam! I appreciate the kind words. I'm trying to keep the fun in diving! As for the dive flag, you might appreciate this little bit of history. History of the Diver Down Flag | Florida Dive Connection

I think I twisted Pete's arm a little and he's going to help out with a Neutral Buoyancy Clinic at the February 3rd event. The number of participants will be limited and we're still working out the details so check back for more info.

As a way of saying thank you to event attendees we've teamed up with Dive Rite to give away some awesome prizes to those who RSVP in advance and come to the Demo Day Event February 3rd at Ginnie Springs. Just RSVP on our event page and your name will be entered. Come to the Ginnie Springs Demo day and we'll draw 2 names. We're giving away a set of Dive XT Fins and a Dive Rite 250' Slide Lock Reel! We have an exciting announcement! Pete Murray, The Chairman has graciously agreed to share his vast knowledge of buoyancy control and will present a free buoyancy control clinic at our Ginnie Springs Demo Day Event February 3rd! We're limiting it to 10 Openwater Single Tank divers only. A 30 minute lecture will begin at 11:00am then from 1:30pm to 3:30pm Pete will be in the water working with individual divers. This is an opportunity to learn from one of the best!
