I would like to thank all the sponsors for the 2018 Scubaboard Surge who gave of their time and products.

I would in particular like to thank All West Curaçao and Go West Diving Curaçao for the package they put together and donated to the Surge! I never win things like this and was truly shocked when I did.

Thanks again!

Ditto to all that Newdiv wrote including the last sentence, I never win substantial things either (I do win door prizes, not BIG stuff).

I won the Ocean Encounters Curacao dive trip. Five days of two tank boat dives on Curacao (and more).

A prize that was just as big, was meeting and talking with the developer of the Shearwater dive computer line. What an interesting success story. Bruce and Lynn are simply super people. It is no wonder that their computers are the best!

The story about naming their computers is cool. The theme relates to their last name, Partridge, a bird name!

Highlights of their computers:
  1. Failure rate of .4 percent (in one year I believe; there is a decimal point in front of the number 4!). The industry standard is 4 percent.
  2. Great screen layout.
  3. Easy to function in-water or on deck.
  4. Bruce and Lynn have been known to replace entire lots of computers simply because they were not good enough. They worked fine, just not up to Bruce and Lynn's standards.
  5. Their computers are available for all classes of divers. Newb to CCR. The same computer can be used for recreational dives or tech dives. Gauge mode also.
  6. Any AA battery functions the computer, even a grocery store copper top alkaline type battery.
  7. Bruce started the company as a retirement avocation and it is now a huge success story.
Thanks again to all Surge Bonaire sponsors!!!!

@Newdiv LOL much better than the pair of socks you were expecting!

Billy and I won $30 gift certificates to Divers direct! I also got a inftator hose cover, Billy says its easier to see me underwater

I also got to trial the Shearwater. As a relative newbie I was not sure if it would apply to me, but man that computer is easy to read a depth and all the important info is there at a glance. Honesty I did not think AI was any big shake, but I loved it!

SB Surge Bonaire was my very first SB Event
I had an awesome time diving and making new like minded friends
I'm looking forward to doing it again

I would like to take the time to thank, all Sponsors for there generous donations

Special thanks to Divers Direct, for the $30.00 Gift Card, I won in one of the many draws that took place

Also great to meet and dive with Bruce and Lynn from Shearwater
I'm an owner and big fan of there product

Thanks again everyone,

I make it a point to patronize those businesses that support ScubaBoard and its members.
Thanks and a "Me too!" :D :D :D

Let us not forget about The Chairman. He provided free NITROX certs and managed to certify several AOW students during his “vacation”.

I would patronize Pete, but that might be considered patronizing. Mrs Dish and I may visit his goat farm, once completed, though.
