Your Island floats?
Is that because all New Yorkers are full of hot air or because of the dead bloated bodies of the mobsters buried in the garbage dumps.
Just kidding, welcome to SB.

Welcome from a native Yonkersite. I've been to Staten Island a time or two--any shore diving there? Have you heard the one about how Columbus discovered Staten Island? If not, I'll post it if you like. Or, fuggettaboudit.

Hahaha the bodies sound about right but you forgot to add that staten island was garbage dumping only for years before they started building on it.

Hey there is shore diving here however the 2 times ive tried went horrible. 1st time was about 1/2 inch of visability and didnt even know if on the surface or sinking like a rock and 2nd time i found a bunch of needles on the beach turned around and went home . And god yes i would love to hear how this dump was discovered.

As a person who is originally from just over the Bayonne Bridge in Jersey City who moved to good old Brook-a-lyn, welcome! I cut through Staten Italy all the time.

Nice. I'm over in Brighton Beach closer to Coney Island. Nice job leaving the only island in America, that not 1 but 2 states refuse to claim lol

OK. It's a groaner---
Columbus' boat was nearing the New World with his crew of tough guys (Dey was from Brooklyn). He says to the crew "Hey youz guys, I tink we're gettin close to discoverin New Yawk. Anyone spottin land and yuz let me know". A while later the first mate up in the perch yells "Hey capn, I tink I see land but I ain't sure". "Is dat en island"?
