My Ikelite dual sync cord connectors are stuck on the strobes. The threads are fine and I have loosened them so they are not tightened at all. But the pins will not uncouple from the strobe head. I had the same problem with the connector on the housing but it eventually came out after some manoeuvring and force. But I do not want to force the strobe connectors anymore for fear of damaging something. I have used the strobes and sync cord for many years without any problems until this event a few weeks ago. Have left it with the threads loose for weeks and I keep trying but it will still not uncouple. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Nishan,

Unscrew the cord end completely from the housing. Gently work the end of the cord back and forth while pulling away from the housing. If you are successful in detaching the cord from the housing, make sure the cord o-ring and sealing area is lightly lubricated with Ikelite lubricant and free of corrosion or debris. Also, check to see that the pins and receptacles are in their proper location and free of corrosion on both the cord and housing bulkhead. If any corrosion is present, then water has entered the bulkhead at some point and you should send the housing to the Ikelite Service Dept. for evaluation. Turnaround time is normally 2 weeks from receipt of your housing.

Send to:
