Poll is even between H and LM. Same with balanced vs unbalanced!

IDK too much about Light Monkey, but I know that DR has INCREDIBLE customer service. I had a Transpac a couple of years ago but was having a problem with it. It turned out to be an adjustment issue, but Lamar H. contacted me directly to resolve the matter!

Part of the solution was a crotch strap...which he sent me (the nice padded one too!) free of charge!

I've never had to deal with Halcyon's customer service, but I have a H BP/W (their super cinch system), and it's outstanding!

I have a sitech on mine. It was installed by the manufacturer (Bare). It works, I like it I guess - however it's the only one I've ever used. Pee Valve - Dump/Pee Valves - Products - SI-TECH
I have the trigon si tech on my new suit, I have yet to “use” it, still working on weight and trim with the suit and didn’t want to add another thing to think about.

Gotta ask dumb question - I might order a dry suit, seen this whole pee valve thing. How the heck does thing thing work? You pee in a bag? Sorry, don't know any other way to ask it....

Lots of threads on ScubaBoard. Try this on Google:

site:scubaboard.com p-valve

I'm aware of the multiple p valve threads on this and other sites. In fact, some of them are mentioned in previous posts.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Thus far Light Monkey & balanced are the leaders.

Lorenzoid: sorry, but the quoted part of your post was cut off on my phone, and I didn't see it. I didn't realize that it (your post) was a direct answer to a question. I didn't intend to "step on" (so to speak) your post!
My apologies

So first off there is a steep learning curve to these, they are amazing once you master it. You get a condom catheter, trim any hair cause that hurts like a mofo when taking it off, use a soap or something to remove natural oils and then put the condom on and give a firm squares as the glue is pressure activated. Most people have quick disconnects, so you’ll need to trim the end of the condom connection as to prevent a kink and back pressure which can/ does cause an uti, insert the barb or quick connect and suit up and before zipping up you connect the quick connect and I usually open the pee valve and test it before zipping my zipper. Then you dive and enjoy. Key things are no kinks I route my plumbing down and out, no loops in the norprene hose. And use a balance valve. So ultimately it works by you pee and it goes through the hose and out the valve which is attached to your suit.

The duck bills in balanced p-valves are a waste of time and money IMO. I had one in a light monkey valve and it gave me trouble ad nauseum. Nothing like getting in and getting a wet thigh almost immediately - or worse peeing on your thigh. Not sure why it was so hit or miss but I put up with it far too long for no good reason.

After replacing the duck bill twice I glued a SS bolt in the hole and its much better now. Duck bills are a problem pretending to be a solution to a non-existent issue.

Halcyon balanced here. Works as designed, never had drama with it, not even one problem. Install was easy. I use a quick disconnect with it too.

I was thinking of starting a thread to ask how to plug the duckbill orifice, but since you mentioned it ... A SS bolt, eh? If I knew the thread size, I might try to make a custom plug out of a Delrin rod. The Halcyon has a donut-shaped retaining plug that secures the duckbill, and so replacing that with a solid plug would do the trick nicely.
