Dive Masks Culture Shock

Due to recent increase of prism, it is time to update my bonded prescription, High Volume, light color silicone dive mask with purge that I've been using since the late 90s.(actually, I've had the mask since the early 80s) What a shocker while looking around online. Seems the only mask even near to my old one is the Aqua Lung Ocean Pacifica- in black only. Bummer.
What the heck happened? Why have masks gone backward in design. Didn't like those frog eyed, low volume masks back in the 70s. And, to get a purge, you'd think I was asking for an arm and a leg.
Any one know of a mask like the Aqua Lung, but in a more clear color?

And, any suggestions of these retro frog eyed types are welcomed. Seeking a good field of view. Navy injury prevents moving neck and shoulders too much. Purge is a must, with room to pinch and clear ears and add bond prescription glasses insert. Must have my prism or else I see double.

If you really must have Clear silicone, here are a few options:

Have you checked TUSA imprex 3d hyperdry? You'd have to get the glass cut to your specifications by an optician, but it's available in multiple colors and clearskirt and has a purge. I can't really find scuba masks with a purge nowadays that have corrective lenses available for them...

I am not sure exactly what you are saying, but you appear to be decrying the fact that pretty much all masks sold today are low volume. There is a reason for that, and it is not because peope were lovong the high volume masks and the manufacturers decided to screw them.

Your concern seems to include range of vision. Back when the shop where I was working still sold some high volume masks, I used to have students experiment with this. I would have them put on a mask, look straight ahead, and then use their eyes only to look in all directions. With the low volume masks, they had much greater ranges. With the high volume masks, if they weren't looking straight ahead, they were looking at the sides of the mask.

Read some info on that earlier today. Too, was pondering my optical acuity might be better with lenses closer- much like a pair of glasses. Just remembering how the old low volumes made me feel closed in. Like plastic rimmed glasses v wire rims with bottomless frames. Are the new ones better? I did see some with purge.

How is it for pinching nose to clear ears. Been certified diving since 79. Never could master the Vasala method. Other than shape, seems much like old mask. Thank you.

Probably not as good as a tiny volume mask because with those your nose sticks way out there. The other down side is they seem to have more than their share of silicone residue. You will need to clean it with something pretty abrasive or possibly flame it, I have not tried that. I have a mustache and it leaks a little till the 'stach gets good and wet but never bothers me at all because....purge valve. On the other hand pretty much everybody I have seen try one really likes it.
