What are the three grommet spreads
(inner to inner, inner to outer, outer to outer)?
I'd like to fit your wing to my Freedom Contour BP, if one of those is a match.
Eric is using an #18 on his personal plate now and told me he plans.on getting a #30. Hopefully the picture answers your question. Thank you

Which version of the Contour do you have? Mine is one model older than the current one and had no holes drilled. We drilled a hole to match my Oxycheq to hold it in place and when I switched to the Argonaut 18 it matched perfectly including the camband slots. Its as if my plate and the wing were made to fit.

Great news! I'd heard that the Oxycheq was a perfect fit. I have the Model 4 with bolt-on rails.
Now I need to measure the distance to compare with Bryan's photo.

Robert,
The grommets on the 18 lb wing are:
Inside to inside is 9.5” (fits the small plate)
Top to top is 11”.(fits med and lg plates)
And bottom to bottom is obviously also 11”. This is the set I use on my plate. The lower grommets top and bottom are better to use on the Contour because the three slots on top take up room, and IMO the wing needs to be set higher so that the top of the inner flat panel is right about where the top of the plate is. This will allow the top of the wing to clear the plate to inflate and function properly. I know you got plate #409
which is a medium. The thing I can’t remember is whether or not it has the lower slot upgrade? If the distance from the top hole to the top of the lower slots is 6” then you have the upgrade. If it’s more like 7”+ then it doesn’t have the upgrade.
If you need that done just drop it by and I’ll take care of it no problem, and obviously no charge.
I did the upgrade to the plates specifically to model it to the VDH wing, which I fully endorse now as the default wing of choice for the Freedom Contour.

BTW, did you get that webbing I left for you at John’s?

Eric,
Sure did get my webbing! Thanks!
From the looks of my previous photos (since my wife has hidden the plate away for Christmas) I don't have the VDH long slot upgrade. I'll be in touch after I get my plate back for Christmas, lol!

This is one beautiful piece of work!

Rob

I bought the #18 VDH wing based on Eric's advice, and am extremely impressed, especially at the price point. Great quality and design, and a very compact size compared to my DSS #20. When deflated, the internal bungee really draws in the wing to a surprisingly small footprint.

Thank you Eric for the advice, and a huge thank you to Bryan for a great wing at a very fair price!

UPDATE....After June 1st, All Argonaut wings will ship with a service kit including necessary O-rings, tool, silicone lubricant, replacement cord for pull dump and cobra head zip ties.
Service kit is compact and should easily fit in your save a dive kit.
I'm going to do a service video....Right now I have an inflator soaking in saltwater so it can get good and crusty so you can see the before and after.

Would you recommend this wing for someone who dives primarily warm waters (need a good travel wing) and a 3mm wetsuit with boots. I also would like to know if this would be fine for diving a 5mm with bootss and a hood for the occasional cooler water dive?

Or would you recommend the #23 over the #18 all this considering?

I use it exclusively when a BC is required in the tropics and I've used it when diving a 5mil with hood and gloves in the finger lakes. It's all about weight management. Many divers overweight themselves and use oversized wing to compensate for excess lead. If you are trying to swim underwater with a flexible bag nearly full of air on your back then you are doing it wrong.
