Hi ladies-

I'm newly divorced and lost my regular dive buddy as a result as well as a connection to my SCUBA Club. (Domestic Violence was involved at the end and I needed to avoid HIM)

Has anyone here been through the same thing and how did you get/maintain your your connection to diving/find new buddies?

I'm desperate to get back in the water, but my old connections just arn't there anymore.

I’m not divorced but I am single without a SO.

Most of my dive buddies are guys whose wives are not interested in diving. Dive buddies range from mid-30s to mid -50s. I’m 49.

I’ve primarily met buddies through my shop and then they introduced me to others. I met a few on the local Lake Michigan dive boat. A regional diving FB page is another source, as is SB.

I have a regular buddy and rotate the others through as schedules allow.

I'm certain there is more than one club in your vicinity? And you found us! Join the group in their trips as posted here. They do two or more a year!

Also if you regularly dive Dutch Springs you would have no problem with the amount of dives you have to pickup dive buddies, I have buddied up with a bunch of divers from South Jersey/ Philly areas.

You should have no problem finding someone to dive with. The reality is there are a lot of single divers out there wishing they had someone to dive with but think they are the only ones. I constantly see posts for people looking for buddies at Dutch Springs. You are far from alone.
You will find another local group. Until then, join an internet group and find buddies that way.
Sites like singledivers sound like a dating site but they book dive travel for divers traveling solo and put you in a group.

You can join us at the Philadelphia Seahorses Dive Club meetings the second Tuesday of the month to meet other divers. It's free and we have many female divers. The meetings are held at Scubadelphia. Hope to see you soon.

When my ex and I divorced, I lost my dive buddy too. I've been a better diver for it, and I don't have to give hoot about his input into trip planning anymore.

I prefer the random dive buddies on trips now... you'll find your way again. :)
