Up and over, but the hose is long enough that the angle of the dangle could be anything you wanted it to be. Perhaps the problem is that the hose attaching to your condom is too short already?

I imagine the two holes will need to more or less line up with each other. Routing up sure would be simpler, but like you, it hasn't seemed to work for me.

Make sure the holes are low enough.The loop in the hose allows them to be beneath the valve if necessary and makes don/doff easier.

Here's what I figured out re donning with lowered holes in under garment;

1. I remove the plastic condom/hose connector from the hose.

2. With condom in left hand (still rolled up) and connector in right hand, I spit on the hose-side of the connector and push it through the nipple of the condom (from the inside) then put on the condom/connector combination.

3. Put on under garment (or under garment and drysuit), use plastic connecter to find and push through hole(s), then plug connector into hose.

I used to ask Mrs Stoo to help me "install" the catheter, but we kept missing the boat... :acclaim:

Up and over for me.

And ya, removing the damn thing at the end of the day is something that masochists alone would enjoy.

I use an eydropper full of 50% or more alchohol and inject under the condom to dissolve the glue. Leaves me "feeling minty fresh, un-scarred, and ready to take on the world."

Oh, man, a few more posts like that and even I (chicken in that regard) might be encouraged enough to dare to try that yet unused valve on my suit...

I've done 15 or so dives since I asked the question and I thought I'd report back.

I'm still doing "up and over" and it's working fine for me. I'm sure "down and trough" would be better but I haven't got around to sourcing tubing locally. My drysuit is also quite tight around my hips so even connecting in the "up and over" position can be a challenge. At the moment I'm in the "if it ain't broke" phase.

I tried an adhesive condom once. I won't be trying that again. :( I've been using on-adhesive latex condoms and wrapping a strip of Leukoplast elastic just below the head, firmly but not to tight. They are very comfortable, I've had no leaks and are very easy to remove. I now usually don the condom at home before driving to the dive site.

I used fuel line from the local auto parts store in one of my old suits. Worked fine but it was much thicker and not as flexible so if not routed well it would leave a red mark on my skin. But it was cheap and easily sourced.

I go either way, depends on the day :p my undergarments (KWARK) have p valve holes so up or down both route fine. Both myself and friends use these catheters, work great, good glue but easy to remove after.. https://goo.gl/images/hdmYDp
