I just got my teric today, and at the surface, I could not ask for a better computer. Cant wait to dive it!!

Now two requests for Shearwater...

What are the chances of having a computer case made that might have modular foam inserts for more than one computer? I would love one case that had foam cutouts for my Perdix and Teric in the same awesome shearwater style case. I am sure I am not the only one that will be diving both computers as a primary/backup.

And on the onscreen compass, when you are at your reciprocal heading, why not turn the dot (which is on the bottom now) another color? I would like red, but it might blend in with the north arrow..

Great computers Shearwater!!!

I just received the Teric yesterday. It fits beautifully on my small wrist. Extremely easy to configure my preferences. Only thing missing is a marine VHF radio and GPS then it would be perfect!

On another note I never have received a transmitter connection alarm on either the Teric or Perdix AI. The only alarm I received last week was an O2 depth warning when I exceed my nitrox depth limit.

So this begs the question. If I setup a 2nd transmitter from a stage bottle, pony or buddy will I get a constant alarm when I'm out of it's range? Can it be shutoff so it never happens?

It will flash to show no connection then stay red. No audio on the Perdix, not sure if Teric. It’s not particularly annoying.

There is no red dot reciprocal heading indicator with the compass overlay.
Thank you for your reply about the the compass overlay. Yeah, I had a feeling, it would have shown in the videos

Maybe Shearwater thought it would make the screen look too cluttered if they added it. If so, maybe, if enough people ask for it (in a software update) they can have an option on / off toggle to show the reciprocal heading in the compass overlay or not.

Can you confirm that in "the old school screen" with the compass (like the screen you see with the Perdix AI in compass mode) shows the red line reciprocal still? Thank you

However, what I'm not seeing is - if you actually want to turn around and head back to the boat (or wherever you came from) a corresponding red dot overlay (like you see in the traditional Shearwater Perdix AI style compass).
There is no red dot reciprocal heading indicator with the compass overlay.
Actually, there is. Just put the green dot at the BOTTOM instead of the top and you have the reciprocal. I used that in Coz with great success.

If you just move the green dot to the bottom instead, is there a line in the bezel or anything that confirms it's your true reciprocal ... or is it more like .... it's on the bottom and close enough? I only ask bc in Miami, we do a lot of reef diving. Coming back "close" to your reciprocal, even a few degrees off, will cause many more "boat checks" vs coming dead back to it. Of course, I know you can just put the compass in "old school mode". I just like the idea of seeing all your information with the overlay vs jumping into the full blown compass screen (which, I'm assuming, operates / looks just like the Perdix AI when the compass is displayed and marked).

Three is no "lubber line" or mark on either side. You'll probably induce more error with it on your wrist than aligning the dot precisely. I lived in the Keys for many years, and this would work fine there, just like it did in Cozumel. It's fairly bright, so easy to keep track of.

That's a workaround, but not really the same as having your marked heading as a green dot and reciprocalheading as an additional red dot.
