Hi there,
I am flying into phuket mid September and plan on doing my dive masters or DMT but still deciding where to go. I plan on starting end of September or start of October. I want to take my time and learn the most possible and do as many dives in the process maybe over 3 months or even longer, I have no time constraints. I just want some honest advice as to where I should go? Factors being dive site quality, best weather and conditions from October to December, busy enough to be going out multiple times a day and where. At the moment I'm tossing up between koh tao, koh phi phi and koh lanta but i am open to other suggestions. As for actual Dive Centers I can work that out when I get there by meeting the instructors and see what they have to offer.
Any help would be awesome!
Sam

Weatherwise Phi Phi, the later you go the better, and that is also the place where the quality of diving will be best. Koh Lanta divesites are further away, on Phi Phi and Tao you'll be able to do more diving.

From Lanta you will dive the Phi Phi sites as well as being in the best location to dive to Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. Lanta is a very nice, relaxed island too...

How many dives per day are you thinking of doing? I normally get 3 dives per day when I dive out of Koh Lanta, even on the longer trips to Phi Phi and Hin Daeng / Hin Muang.
The islands around Trang area and Koh Rok are also accessible on Lanta day boats.
In terms of DMT, quality surely is the driving factor. I worked with 2 guys who did their OW on Koh Tao and up to DM on Phi Phi. When questioned on what they'd covered, it seems much of the content had been skipped or glossed over.
