Diving after dental surgery

My dentist, endodentist and dental surgeon are not divers and cannot answer my questions:
1. Can I dive right after getting a bone graft in my jaw, once the stitches are off?
2. Can I dive right after getting an implant imprint ( when the screw is put in place)?

I just had the teflon membrane removed from my new implant. My dentist and dental surgeon recommend waiting for another few weeks. They are not divers and may be over cautious, but after spending so much money I don't want to take any chances.

Biggest dangers are probably air pockets and infections.
Check with DAN.

I waited 6 weeks after the bone graft and 3 weeks after the screw was put in. No issues.

Good morning @WoodyLompoc , what kind of bone graft are you referring to? I've heard the artificial bone matrix/substrate that oral surgeons put in place to reinforce a post site called a "bone graft"... is that what you're talking about?

The surgeon told me I did not have enough bone material after removing my tooth, so he placed something he said was made of cadaver bone, covered it with a membrane and stitched it. After two weeks I get the stitches off, thyen in 4 months the imprint.

I'm from Santa Barbara too. Who was your surgeon? Did he recommend the 6 and 3 weeks?

Hi. It was John Nguyen in Goleta and I think he recommended a slightly longer wait. I do know from past experience though that I heal very fast.

Ok thanks. For some reason my dentist said a surgeon, not a dentist, had to do all but the final crown, so Dr Hall is doing it and he said " You can dive rightaway" but the DAN website says otherwise, like your dentist.
