The Aqualung i450T computer has a user serviceable battery but the manual states the rear cover seal/o-ring must be replaced. The manual does NOT reference the part number. I contacted Aqualung and found the seal is only available as part of a battery kit. Screws, silicon paste and a battery (CR2450). The kit number is #NS911149 and is only available through the Aqualung dealer network in the US.

I have replaced the battery on my Oceanic Atom 3.0 (nearly the same computer, I think) several times. I replaced the O-ring once because I happened to have a factory battery replacement kit on hand. The other times, I just bought a battery at a local drug store and replaced it keeping the original O-ring.
I can't see any reason to replace that O-ring unless you can see any visible signs of degradation (which I think would take several years, at least). You might put a little silicone grease on the O-ring whenever you do replace the battery. Just remember, it only needs enough to make the O-ring surface material look wet - not enough to actually see the grease itself on the O-ring.

Agreed, I ordered one so I could see the composition and cross-section. Its also nice to have the spare screws. If it is just a standard round cut o-ring I will reuse it or source an OE version. More just wanted to share the info I found on the kit number as there is very little info on the google machine.

I have not dealt much with this shop so I wanted to double check directly with Aqualung. I emailed customer support early Tuesday morning to verify the part was back ordered. I have not heard anything?

The repair guy at your LDS should be able to provide a spare O rings. I just replenished the O ring selection in my save a dive kit including 3 spare O rings for each of my computers.

I agree. I have backups for my camera rig, regs, lights, etc. That's why I cant drop this. That and the manual says you need to replace the seal. Which means, if you didn't buy a kit and it floods its on you. I am really surprised I cant find it from multiple sources.
Though I am sure the original seal and some Sea and Sea grease will be fine I am set back by the lack of support. Maybe I am expecting too much.
All is good now. While on vacation I received confirmation from Aqualung that the kit had been back ordered but inventory was now caught up. Followed by a call form my LDS that my order was in.
More importantly, the computer was flawless. We got "stuck" in Roatan an extra week due to Harvey. I ended up with 46 hours of dive time and no issues of any kind. Battery life does not seem to be an issue.

Are there more people who did not renew the o-ring during battery replacement? Did they encounter problems? I bought an i450t last Friday and inserted a new battery. I see no reason why to change the o-ring if it is undamaged, so I kept the original one in place. ( I was surprised by how loose the screws were tightened). I like the i450 but it is annoying that aqualung does supply o-rings only in a battery kit -_-
