Wasn't really sure where to put this but I'm currently completing the eLearning portion of the NASE Master Scuba Diver course and under the "Site Condition & Dive Planning" section there's a topic that talks about "The Environment's Role in Dive Planning." It talks about how to find out conditions of particular dive sites and locales and mentions looking online to "consult websites like ScubaBoard.com where there are discussion sections for local dive areas all over the world"

Just thought that was really interesting! Maybe this place isn't so bad after all!

"consult websites like ScubaBoard.com where there are discussion sections for local dive areas all over the world"

Why not? ScubaBoard is a preeminent forum with very relevant information from a broad group of divers.

Agree 100 percent! There is an enormous amount of practical, convenient and pertinent information on SB. You just have to filter through the scattered bits of disinformation, but this applies to any similar forum.

Well yes it is, because pretty much all of the other forums (I used to belong to 10-15) have threads where the last post was 2 months ago. That's why I quit them all. I guess it's tough to compete with a Board with what, a hundred thousand members? Out of curiosity, what is the membership number now?
