Is there one that can actually get the job done for the price? no deco, technical, cave etc. Just to be used at local quarries . Needs to be rated to 100-130 range. Decent run time and speed?

I have a uv26 that works great for cave diving that I'd sell for $1k

Your best bet is a used SS UV-18/26 or Gavin. They're old and heavy, but reliable, and the big bodies ride smooth like a Cadillac.

Anything newer is probably gonna be much more expensive. The old SLA's are cheap, and relatively plentiful.

New? Maybe this would work - 100' depth limit
or it's a glorified pool toy.

Yamaha RDS300 Scooter Black/Red

Sometimes there's used Apollo's on ebay for under $1000 - nowhere near the quality/speed of an SS though. I have driven an Apollo several times in warm water gear and while not balzingly fast it's enough to rip your mask off if not careful.

For what you describe, a Mako would be a good choice too. They can be had used for cheap, are small, reasonable light, and have a proven track record. They do not cost a small fortune to replace the batteries either.

I'll try to get you pics tomorrow. Also, my friend has a mako for sale that needs batteries. I think it has less than half the run time of a UV26, but works well. I wouldn't take it much deeper than 120'ish

I know they are >$1k, but I am really looking at the subgravity aquaprop for a fun little scooter where depth/duration are not "as" important. The suex VR is a couple steps up from that and a little more coin. I am optimistic that a supply of these immerge in the used market within a year or so.

I highly suggest you demo one before buying it. These are only slightly better than a pool toy scooter.
