Got my Signature 2nd stage reg today. Questions...

The conversion requires a kit. I understand that it's pretty easy to do, but I've never done it myself. You'll need to contact deep 6 to get a kit and instructions on making the conversion.

My first stage is the Atomic. I'll do some research, though. Thank you.

Oops, sorry, I should have read the title of your post more closely, I missed the second stage part. . Not sure what your local shop is, but here's a couple of options. Kent Island Scuba apparently carries a ton of stuff, including Atomic. I'm sure they could get what you need, but really it's only the owner that is knowledgable and he can be hard to find at the shop sometimes. Alternatively, my favorite is Dive Services Inc. in Virginia Beach. The owner, Joel, is super knowledgable and is willing to ship things to you. Dive Services is about a two hour drive from me (in Salisbury), but I make the trip fairly often because Joel is just super helpful for a lot of things. When I can't make the drive though, I just have him ship me the parts and get his advice as needed.

I really need to find the time to go to Kent Island soon. I tried Chesapeake Underwater Sports today, they also sell Atomic, but they weren't there even though store hours were open. It was a frustrating waste of time. Kent Island is only about 10 minutes further.

Should I get a yoke removal nut or just make it work with a big wrench?

they help, but I usually just use a big wrench. Depends on how wide the nut is compared to the thickness of the yoke itself. If the nut is not bigger than the yoke then you need a socket.

Get a hold of @Trace Malinowski , he's in your area and knows how to swap stuff like that over.

Kent Island can also be a little frustrating. My instructor friends went up and met with the owner, who was knowledgeable, but hard to get in contact with. That was my experience as well. That's why I just go to Dive Services Inc. We live in a weird Scuba Limbo here in Md.

Aquanautics is good people. They only really sell ScubaPro though, and that means I buy big things elsewhere.

If you not have the special socket. A good idea can be to place the nut in a vise, and turn the body of the first stage.

A big wrench is sometimes not deep (and tight) enough to get a good grip over the yoke.

many oxygen valves are unplated brass on the threads. It's not a big deal since they are in a dry section and not exposed to the water when diving

Ok, I did missunderstand how to machine them, if you take the threaded part that goes into the tank down it's ok.

I have some DIN valves where the pillar you put the yoke over is to wide for most yokes, i can put a doughnut in, but most yokes does not fit over. My missunderstanding that it was this part you take down.

We have other standards here, with metric threads in most tanks, only rely old ones have imperial threads in the tank, and most tanks (both 232Bar and 300Bar) have the same threads M25*2

(interesting is that the DIN connection have imperial threads, G5/8")
