In some European countries (e.g., France), they use commas to denote decimals, so punctuation can be different. For example, €40,00 - means 40 Euros. They do that in Quebec too.
Yeah, I've seen that before. I've figured it out now, but more than once in the past I thought something like €40,00 meant four thousand euros and someone had made a typo by placing the thousands separator in the wrong spot..

Stuff sure was expensive in Europe back then

Here's a link to deep6's website directly, for those of us who don't use facebook: Triton's Abacus

On the top right is a silver knob. Does anyone know if that's a dial like some computers use or is it just a large battery compartment cover?

This is just humorous for a product currently only sold in the US. I would also consider the apostrophe as an indication of feet. Not a deal breaker but definitely in the odd category.

Normaly you notate angles/degrees 177°15'32''

Read out as 177 degrees 15 minutes and 32 seconds.

So for me, 177' on a compass would mean 177 minutes = 2°57'

But no big deal for me. ...

It is a product sold in Europe for some time, divecomputer.eu, distributed in the US by Deep six.

LOL! Really? The Deep6 site doesn't admit that from what I saw.

OOPS, it does sort of say that on the website. I just missed it:

deep6:
As the distributor for divecomputer.eu in the US, we would like to introduce Triton's Abacus!

I guess that wording just didn't "click" in my mind.

Then the “only sold/available in the US” in bold orange is a bit of a misnomer. I assumed it was a product marketed in Europe anyway.
Regardless, the various sentiments about imperial vs metric still stand.

Not a misnomer. The version with deep6gear.com on it is only available to Americans and Canadians. Everyone else will get the version stamped divecomputer.eu and will be from divecomputer.eu as we only sell to the US and Canada. "As the distributor for divecomputer.eu in the US and Canada..." is pretty clear.
