Magic smoke gone!

I got to the dive site, and the switch on the battery of my DS-161 broke. Couldn't get it to turn on. So, when I got home, I connected it to a different battery(Ikelite for the DS as well) and POOF! My kitchen was filled with smoke. The battery was OK, but the flash unit had a hole in it, and half an hour later was still warm to the touch. All the magic smoke is gone, and I doubt even the guys at Ikelite can put it back in.
So, it looks like the housing, battery, flash, and sync cable are all going in to Ikelite for the once-over.

I've noticed waterproof smoke containers are more costly to get the smoke back into. Ouch.

No. I hadn't even gotten in the water. I was taking a test shot on the hood of my car before gearing up.
