I’m already jealous of my wife’s SAC. And she uses it against me by frequently telling me her tank pressure and asking for mine, near the end of a dive. I have to ignore her. There is a ten to fifteen minute window in there where she is just really hard to live with.

I am hoping to introduce her to the Keys this coming summer and I think that it would be fun to get her on a fairly simple drift dive or two if I can manage it. But dang heck, if that chick doesn’t even need to kick/fin anymore there is a distinct possibility that she might surface with more air than she went under with.

Do I avoid drift diving or do I avoid my wife while drift diving?

TIA

Not much drift diving in the Keys, although it does happen infrequently. You suck it up, be glad you have a buddy who can provide you with air in the event that you have a gear failure, and move along like the rest of us with smartass wives from Texas.

Hopefully it all balances out....heck, that’s what a relationship is all about....let her enjoy her lung capacity....I’m sure you have a better trait over her too

If it becomes too much, cut her when you see sharks around...

I dive mainly with my dad now and he had a pretty good solution.
He bought a set of double 80s... then took my double 100s and gave me the 80s lol.

Just buy a bigger tank for yourself so you don't divorce her lol. Or buy a long hose and start the dive on her air (that may have been standard dive planning for my buddies for a while)

Ask your wife to please stop bothering you because you are starting to get mad. If she refuses you have bigger problems than air consumption.

Yeah. Then ask her if she is over reacting....

I used to have an Idaho wife too.....

Your wife dives?
NICE!!!
You're very lucky.
You shouldn't be irritated by the fact that your wife's a better diver than you.
Could be worse, she's gotta dive with a gas hoover!
Seriously, a long hose for her and/or a bigger cylinder for you and watch you NDL's with all that extra bottom time...

Sounds like your marriage is ruining your drift diving.
