Just received my nice new Scribble and "Blue Friday" seconds. Coupled with flex hoses from DRIS this is one nice lightweight (and dare I say sexy!) travel kit to dive the Caribbean this winter. Can't wait to try it (in the pool this week or next week, and in Belize, Roatan, Cozumel in Feb and Florida, Nassau and the Virgin Islands in march).

Yeah, blue second kinda needed a blue hose to match :)

I want to give huge props to Bert and the team at Deep6 for awesome customer service. With all the BF sale craziness there was a minor mixup with my order and they made it right in record time.

Awesome setup! Let us know how the new scribble work for you! I love ours, but I don't think I'm going to get to use them before you - wife is making me put them under the Xmas tree! :p

Wow that thing looks awesome I love the blue! I just would have changed out the yellow hose to blue also

Thanks, it is a nice kit! I agree I also would have preferred installing 2 blue hoses, but since I'll mostly be using to dive with cruise ship "insta-partners" in the Caribbean I wanted my octo to be standard looking and unmistakable to others.

Local dive club has pool dives at a community college on thursday evenings so if all goes well, I'll give it a try this thursday (if I don't end up doing overtime at work that is...). I'll post feedback asap.

At the risk of sending this thread WAY off topic... when diving off a cruise ship, try to find your own operators outside of who the boat uses... google is your friend here... after doing maybe 30 or so dives via cruise ship piers the only ones I semi-regret are the ones I booked through the ship... YMMV, but that's my opinion...

I've done both, it really depends on the ports for me. Cruise operators are always more expensive, and can be touch and go... but in ports with short stays and specially tender ports (like Belize) I sometimes prefer Cruise operators. In other ports like Grand Cayman where you can walk to a dozen dive shops from the cruise port it's a no-brainer.

Hose color is a perfect match. Looks great. I’m waiting for my flex hoses to arrive to put my scribble set up together.

Thanks, man - looking forward to the feedback! I know how it goes with working overtime...

Forgot to mention, I love the blue and yellow combo...but then again, I have a Cub Scout! :thumb:

Awesome looking kit, Deep 6 is at the top of my reg list for when it's time to buy. Just got to decide on hose lengths!!

Do you already have a dive shop in Roatan? If not I can highly recommend Sun Divers in West End. If coming in on a cruise they'll pick you up at the port, and drop you back off there in a time frame that you desire. They have a couple of boats and run small groups with great people all round.
