We're gonna need some more details, please.

At the Full Moon Party in Koh Phangan i collapsed in the middle of the street 30 minutes after drinking alcohol from the famous Buckets that they sell there.
As a first time tourist in Thailand i innocently thought that such a huge famous party will not allow for ***** up like this to happen, boy was i wrong.

I dont even remember most of it, i remember starting to feel a really weird high and then extremely dizzy and sick , next thing i remember is waking up in the hospital, (Friends called an Ambulance).

Initially we thought someone slipped Drugs or Roofies into my drink as an attempt to target one of the Girls that were with us but soon we realized that the alcohol was a cheap fake knock off sold in premium bottles for premium prices.
What i thought was a Bucket of Johnny Walker Black Label with Coke actually turned out to be a very cheap and extremely toxic alcohol knock off with dangerous levels of Ethanol, the Doctor said i was lucky that i did not drink the entire bucket (Most likely because was already a little drunk) as it could have lead to permanent damage or possibly death.

So spent the 3 days after that feeling like absolute **** in the ER, completely missing out every single one of my Koh Tao dives that i have scheduled 2 days prior to that, when i was finally released i had to head back to Bangkok to catch my flight back home... not to mention my hospital bill racked up to about 4,000$ (Thank god for travels insurance).

Overall, was a hell of an experience. Its fine to drink alcohol there but make sure you buy it from a 7/11 in a sealed closed bottle, they cant mess with you there.

Sorry that happened to you!
Those buckets are so dangerous even with high quality liquor in them. Think of all the backwash, let alone alcohol in them. And straws!! Do not use plastic straws folks!

(I'd continue my anti-single use plastics rant but want to try and stay on topic)

Big fan of the Orb.

:)

I recently found out my sons best friend’s uncle worked on several Orb albums

Have a great time in Thailand & enjoy the diving. Beware, it can can very addictive.

Cheers,
Rob

Well at least they had the decency not to spike with methanol!
Contaminated alcohol in Indonesia is killing hundreds of people each year

Ive heard about this and it also happened in my area, sadly. (Thankfully they managed to stop it fairly quickly)

The Doctor's basically told me that what i had was contaminated with all bunch of crap, presumably from the process of making it so cheaply.
I'm just grateful i did not suffer any thing permanent , i've heard about people going blind because of this crap... and even worse.

My neighbour lost some of his eye sight because of methanol poisoning in cheap drink.
You are very lucky indeed.

Get this, I have listened to them for about 10 years, loved them. I'm In Canada, they've never played... except once... the night of my sisters wedding fml

Thanks for the heads up!

I don't drink too much but will kick back a bit in Thailand, I'm more about adventuring! Plus more money for scuba and guns hehehe
