Does anyone have any good recommendations for dive shops out of Koh Lanta doing day trips? Im looking to do Koh Haa and Hin Daeng mainly just for a few days after Phuket. I prefer shops that own their own boats.

I dove with Dive & Relax with my kids a couple of weeks ago and was very happy. Speedboat, so room is tight, but they made the diving very easy. Team was professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Recommended.

I dove with Andaman Dive Adventure. They have one boat, a nice one.

Is that because it shortens the time to Hin Daeng - is that the only plus?

I’m 6’5” and a big guy so room is a plus for me. :)

Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are both possible on big boats, just slower, as you surmised. It takes 2-2.5 hrs with the big boat, at least with Andaman Dive Adventure. During that time, people eat, chat, and/or nap. Andaman Dive Adventure serves breakfast on the way out and lunch on the way back. The time passes by pretty quickly.

Speedboats also get to the dive site before the slower boats, so there are less divers in the water.

I am 6'4" and most speedboats on Lanta are comfortable enough for me... The Lanta Diver speedboat is a larger one too...

Thanks Bubble Junky - always good to hear from fellow tall divers :) Quick question - you running a backplate?
