My wife used it for less than 10 dives. Im usually the one who rinse it. Maybe I did something wrong in one of the process.

Is it okay to use hot water (not boiling) from bath heater to rinse the regulator? Because I remember doing that.
Hot water soak and rinse is fine, it will even help the drying.

You need to service your regulator but I am concerned about what is inside your tank(s) also. The brown corrosion is from something that came from the Tank.

Assuming I am not being tricked by lighting in that photo, and assuming the service did return it to you clean and shiny, then there is definitely a need/opportunity for much better post dive care. Ask for a show and tell demo next time you are at the LDS. Aside from the corrosion you see, there may now be salt water inside the 1st stage also. One common error I see during training is the diver that inserts a dust cap inverted, trying to use the top surface as a cork, when it is really the bottom surface that covers the inlet.

Since it is a environmentally sealed (used to be called dry bleed) Sherwood, I'd pull the filter and check if the problem goes deeper, if not replace the filter and retaining ring. If the bleed is working and the IP acts properly ( Regulator Inspection and Checklist (Rev-8) ), I'd use it but thats me. The SR2 was tested to be service at 300 hours so you can put that into the mix.

As for the salt buildup, I'd put the reg on my pony, pressurise and leave it in fresh water for an extended period of time.
