Although it's not really a dry suit hose, since I haven't been diving dry lately, I leave a longish inflator hose clipped to the left hip D-ring, as above. It has a Dive Alert on the end and is also useful for inflating an SMB. If I needed it for a dry suit, the Dive Alert would just get clipped in a pocket unless needed.

(It looks like I grew up not too far from you, a little north of Mt. Clemens.)

Put this on reg: (note this is a 2-part adapter of which you use one part in ths application)

Connect or disconnect as required.

Although the thought of clipping it off for DSMB inflation or signalling has an attraction that may sway me to put the hose on permanently.

Short term, tuck it down along the tank. Ignore it.
Long term, remove and put a port plug in.

Like others, when I am on a warm water trip, I remove the dry suit hose, then re-install it once I return home.

Remove the hose, it only takes a moment to take off and plug.

@tmassey left hip d-ring

Hmm... mine’s long enough that it extends about 8 inches past my left hip d-ring. The Velcro wire tie effectively does the same thing as a snap bolt. I’m not thrilled with the dangly. But if I bend it back so it doesn’t dangle, it creates a loop, which I like less. I was thinking you might clip it off on your left shoulder d ring.

I rarely dive just a single dive in a wetsuit: it’s usually for a warm-water trip, so I just take it off. Maybe I should use a shorter drysuit hose? Or just not try to be lazy? :)

not really, same size as the ones I use on my primary regulator so it doesn't really matter. You could always just put an o-ring over the hose and clip the bolt snap back onto itself when you were using it plugged in.

Ah okay, I understand

@tmassey I am fairly tall and I use a DSS or Freedom long pattern plate when I dive so my hip d-rings are a few inches lower than they would be on a normal backplate.
If you are doing a big dedicated trip, or go through defined seasonal changes then I would just take it off and put the port plug in. I very regularly swap between wetsuit and drysuit *often on the same trip while cave diving*, so I need to have a system in place to handle that.

Hmm... I can see that a few inches longer on the plate and a few inches shorter on the hose could make all the difference...

How tall are you? I’m 6’ 2.25” tall and with a 32” inseam. The inseam is short for someone that height: I have a long torso to make up for it. I’ve thought about the long plate, but have never used one. How much value is the long plate to you?
