I think I heard that on the Blackbeard each person is given some storage under the seats. How big is this area? It makes sense that if you place things in that location that you don't want to get wet you should have a dry bag. Hence, wondering how big that area is and could I store things there in a small dry bag to keep out of the bunk area. Or, is this solely for your daily dive gear items - boots, mask, etc.

It's about big enough to store your mask, fins, weightbelt and wetsuit. a small drybag will fit on top easily. more room if you have small fins.

Each of the on deck, under seat bins is shared with another diver.

Bur really - less is more You don't need much on board.

A few other hints - use a swimmers shammy towel like this to dry off on deck and keep it in your wet bin: https://www.amazon.ca/Speedo-753528...&qid=1550539921&sr=8-1&keywords=speedo+shammy

And a small micofibre camping towel for the shower.

And use a mesh in bag or two to stuff you clothes in on the side of your bunk.

Thanks for the tips....

Mesh bag? Is there room to hang this on the side of the bunk? I'm not thinking a large mesh like you pack dive gear in, but a smaller one sounds like a good idea.

My plan is to unload the dive gear and keep the dive gear suitcase at the dock. My clothes and personal items, I plan on carrying in a backpack. Should I plan on taking everything out of the backpack and placing in bunk or would you recommend keeping the backpack and keep things stored in it. I'm assuming I will be sleeping with the backpack.

No room to hang on side of bunk. I used two narrow mesh bags down the side of the bunk one for clean and one dirty. put my camera, wash kit, ebook on the shelf.

Only took one pair of shoes - water sandals - on the boat.

Left all my travel clothes on the dock. You get back to dock Thursday night and can grab clothes from dock and a land shower before heading out for last night on the town.

We slept with our duffels (about 24 inches long by 12 inches wide) on our beds. To me, a duffel was ideal for this because the big U-shaped zipper on top let me keep most everything packed in the duffel with easy access. But I'm sure you can make a backpack work also. We had a few hooks by our bunks (front of the Morningstar). I kept my windbreaker hanging on one, not room to hang too much else there.

I found that a large size packing cube from Amazon was the perfect size for the shelf on my bunk for my clothes for the week. The dive bench bin is big enough for 2 people you will share with your dive buddy or buddies.

As always Thanks for info...another question.

What about wetsuits? Is there a place to hang them? If so, should I bring a hanger? Or, pinned over the rail is how they are stored?

There is no place to hang any hangers. Wetsuits are pinned over the lifelines for drying and then stored in deck bins.
