Testing New OCi Watch & Transmitter

I just ordered an OCi / Transmitter combo for $939. Seems like a good deal to me.

I'm half way through a one month visit to Indonesia and I'm happy to say I'm delighted with my new OCi. Straightforward operation and performance with no drama.

Couple of points -

Batteries are pretty cheap and last seemingly forever. I replace our transmitter batteries before every trip and bring a spare (with O-ring) but that seems to be overkill.

When you say last forever... I'm looking at the OCi for daily wear. Do you have any real world info on the computer in Watch mode? The manual says 300 hours of DIVE time, but I want one I can wear boating, snorkeling, beach etc... 300 hours get's eaten up quick.

I had to replace the computer battery 6 months after receiving the OCi from the distributor. I don't know how long the OCi might have sat before I got it. The watch mode runs full time and cannot be turned off.
The only downside of the OCi for me is Oceanic ditched the rotary lock battery door seal and used a plate secured by four screws on the OCi. In my opinion this type of seal is more difficult to install and less positive. Other than that the OCi is a good looking and functional computer.
If you don't need AI, the GEO2 would probably be a better bet.

if it makes any difference in your decision making OCi and Teric use the same transmitter (also compatible with Aqualung). All made by same company that Aqualung bought a while back (PPS)

Out of the three, Teric but I'd consider the following computer/watch from Ratio also:

Everyone has nice things to say about the Teric, but charging would probably be a nightly routine. I understand Lithium-Ion batteries have a lifetime of 300-500 cycles or 2-3 years. I would expect the newer batteries do better than this, but it might be worth checking out.
