Here is the latest on the move to refillable sorb canisters in the Poseidon. As announced a few months ago, Poseidon and Molecular have reached the decision to stop producing the prepacked scrubber canisters for the Poseidon VI and Se7en. While the prepacked canisters will continue to be available for a while, you should begin planning for the transition. The use of the new canister has been approved by PADI, TDI and SSI.

Tecme (Tec Equipment für Nitrox, Rebreather Höhlen Tauchen) offers a refillable scrubber which is approved for use in the Poseidon. Tecme currently has these canisters on backorder, but Poseidon has them in stock. You should contact your local Poseidon dealer (or Matt Kuderick at Honolulu Scuba Company, mkuderik@islanddivershawaii.com) to order your new canister so you have it before the inventory of prepacked canisters run out.

I use the Tecme but AFAIK Poseidon is busy certifying their own? That’s per my conversations with the factory guys.

That is correct. However, the Poseidon version is still a way off and may not be available in the near future. In the mean time, Poseidon has approved the use of the Tecme canister and worked with some of the training agencies to allow the use of the Tecme canister to ensure continuity during the transition. Poseidon is stocking the Tecme canister.

That's good to know, I'll drop Jorgen a line and see what's the story. Will be nice to use my existing canister for training students.
